How Probiotics Enable Healthy Digestion and Immune System

Probiotics are preparations of live micro-organisms (usually including lactobacilli, bifidobacteria, streptococci, and some yeasts such as Saccharomyces, and moulds) which are believed to be beneficial to health by restoring microbial balance in the intestine. Probiotics are the “friendly” bacteria that benefit the colon and therefore the immune system. They are produced for human consumption most often in dairy products containing two types of microbes, lactobacilli and bifidobacteria. More recently, probiotic dietary supplements are becoming popular as a way to balance and promote a healthy disgestive system.

Why You Should Balance Your Essential Fatty Acids

Many cancer specialists agree that cancer cannot thrive in an oxygen-rich environment. Low oxygen levels in cells are due to inadequate levels of undamaged ‘parent’ essential fatty acids (PEFAs) in the tissue cells’ membranes. PEFAs act as ‘oxygen magnets’, which attract the oxygen in the bloodstream and pull it through the membrane into the cell. Without a correct ratio of undamaged PEFAs, diets of organic produce, vitamins or fiber will be effective in the fight against cancer.

How Inflammation Becomes a Chronic Disease Precursor

Inflammation is central to the body’s ability to defend, maintain and repair itself. Its symptoms appear as redness, heat, swelling and pain, announcing a part of the body that is inflamed. Heat and redness are signs of blood rushing to the injured area. Swelling is from changes in the small blood vessels that allow plasma to seep into the tissues. Pain results from the release of compounds used by the immune system to draw defensive support to the injured area.
